This facility belongs to the Agaete City Council, it is an old Canarian house that belonged to the Manrique de Lara family (bourgeois family of Agaete) and stands out for its traditional architecture. In this facility, different cultural events and exhibitions are held.
Typical Canarian house with a central outdoor patio dotted with vegetation and native art. It consists of multiple open-plan and spacious rooms where you can carry out activities.
Original wooden ceilings, walls and floors from the period are preserved. Beautiful!
Although it is currently owned by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, I had the opportunity to meet its owner on my last visit.
Highly recommended to visit the place to learn about the old and practical local construction style. 💜
Hopefully, when you visit, there will be an event from the active Citizen Participation circle.
It is usually free entry.
