In the Risco neighborhood you will find this wild beach of sand and pebbles. Access to the beach is to the left of the road before entering the Risco neighborhood and driving in the direction of La Aldea de San Nicolás. We arrive at a large parking lot, the beach is approximately 400 meters wide and there is only sand on the west side. In the center of the beach there is an area of Canary Juniper where you can shelter from the sun. It is a quiet place with few people, ideal for relaxing.
You have to be careful with the waves and the currents, especially in the western part of the beach since the currents can be strong, the change of tide can drag a lot of water to that area of the beach, so we recommend caution.
Summer temperatures range from 26ºC to 28ºC, although they sometimes reach 30ºC. In winter, daytime temperatures range from 16ºC to 24ºC. The water temperature in summer is close to 23ºC and 19ºC in winter.
To get to the Risco from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria we must drive along the GC2 road in the direction of Agaete. From Agaete we have to continue along the GC200 road in the direction of La Aldea de San Nicolás until we reach the Risco neighborhood in Agaete.

Excellent beach. Long with black sand. Definitely try to go at low tide - in November it has a tidal range of ~2m so to get some sand need to time it well. Red flag up as usual, but at low tide, very easy to access the water and jump in some waves. Highly recommended.
Also excellent spot for sunset behind the headland.
the road there is not a paved road and that might be difficult for non-SUV cars. drive carefully and from a certain point you just have to walk. The beach is about a 10-minute walk. small beach with very beautiful black sand.
Beautiful beach with views of the mountains. There are no crowds, but there is also no infrastructure. To a large extent a pebbly beach but there is also an area with sand. Very close access to the beach by car.
