A mainly seafood restaurant nr the promenade. Great food, especially the grilled fish fillet that I had, very tasty and plenty of it. It came with canarian potatoes but I'm not sure what the difference with new potatoes was, apart from alittle salt on the outside. I've had thd before and they've been wrinkly, there's weren't and there was no pink sauce, which I thought was automatically served with them. They gave you a bread roll and a garlic dip, which I used on the potatoes. I also ordered a glass of sangria with was lovely, especially with the pear and peaches instead of the usual oranges and lemons. You can sit inside or outside as they own the restaurant opposite, where the toilet is situated.
If you are longing for fresh fish of the day, this spot will pleasantly satisfy.
We ordered three appetizers, el salipicón, ensaladilla rusa, and the pimientos padrón. All were fresh and tasty. The show stopper of the afternoon was the Gallo, fish of the day, which came perfectly grilled and lightly seasoned. The owner himself removed the meat from the carcass and served each of us. The flesh was tender, boneless, and succulent. We also ordered the papas arrugadas as accompaniment, which came with a flavorful mojo. For dessert, the owner opened a huge cheese wheel made in the surrounding area. Definitely, the best cheese I have had!
The restaurant is right next to the Playa de las Nieves beach and overlooks the ferry terminal and the rocky coast, which generally creates an interesting setting for a meal. It's nice to look at the water, mountains and people splashing in the ocean. The prices are not the lowest and it must be admitted that although the fish was well prepared, the taste lacked good spices. I noticed in the reviews that this had happened to others, so I suggest correcting it. Moreover, the service was good and everything was served without delay.
I would avoid this restaurant. We went in for lunch. The waiter was not friendly & most of the staff seemed like they didn't like each other - there was generally a bad atmosphere in the restaurant.
A plate with bread & alioli (which we didn't ask for) was practically thrown on the table by the angry waiter & of course they charged us for it.
The food was so underwhelming - fish in a restaurant like this should be so much better, it's some of the most unappetising we have ever eaten.
On payment of the bill, they didn't ask us how our food was.

4 months agoIt was not that bad as written in the reviews. Paella - 10/10 Fish - 10/10 Chicken - 0/10 So the result is: order seafood, it’s good :))
