This is a very typical old-fashioned Spanish seafront seafood restaurant; very large, high ceiling seating area with basic furniture and no frills. We went on a Sunday for lunch. This is probably the busiest time of the week as this port is very popular with locals, so we had to wait a little to sit, but not too long. Service was manic, but considering how busy they were, it was fine. We went for the seafood paella, as it was recommended, and it did not disappoint.
We only went in for a drink at the bar, but they offered us the €12 menu of the day. We were really impressed. The food was fresh, and tasty with prompt service. The menu consists of 3 courses plus a drink and bread. Excellent value.
We ordered the menu for 10€ which includes a starter, a main dish, a drink and dessert or coffee. The grilled fish was perfectly cooked and I enjoyed the dessert too. I highly reccomend this restaurant as they have great service and good food for an unmatchable price
go for a drink - skip the food. oh, wait, skip the drink too, definitely the wine. location is wonderful but you get a small greasy piece of rubbery calamari for 17 euros. no taste, all just grease. pay an additional 4 euros for dry bread and a little thing with mayo, whether you ordered it or not.
Ten Euro meal:
We had something to eat when the place was quiet at 7:00 pm on Saturday. Today it is closed at 9:30 pm. (Clocks change).
This is our last full day, and my partner was in a very good mood. I noticed that the French couple on the adjoining table went a la carte, and they had a much more interesting meal.
Personally I did not particularly like the canary stew or fish soup. However my partner liked her grilled sardines, and my fried breaded fish was acceptable.
I also enjoyed the chilled red wine.
What was really exceptional and unusual was the view from the window?
