El Surtidor is located in the center of Agaete where typical Spanish tapas and beers are served in a picturesque dining room. It has an outdoor terrace.
Sitting on a traffic island, you'll be pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable the experience can be. We ordered fried fish accompanied by local Canarian potatoes, dressed with red sauce and Padrón peppers. Everything was fresh and delicious.
On the corner of a cosy town there are two tapas restaurants. We came specifically for El Surtidor, and it was the best tapas we had on the island!
The food is super, the grilled squid was amazing, so were our other choices. The waiter is a friendly guy, although he did forget our drinks at first, but nothing to complain about as the rest was perfect. There’s some traffic, but not too much or annoying.
One tiny advice: create some homemade desserts, as the prepackaged desserts we saw on another table had us deciding not to go for it.
Parking is best done across the bridge where a large parking area is.
El Surtidor Tapas is a vibrant gem in the neighborhood, embraced by friendly locals. The fried octopus is unparalleled—delicious and melt-in-your-mouth tender, making it one of the best we've ever tasted. The chickpea stew with chorizo is a flavor-packed delight, complemented by the delightful tomato sauce, perfect for bread-dipping.
It’s a lovely spot to have a bite whilst observing locals engage in cheerful conversations. With both shaded outdoor seating as well as cosy indoor tables, there is a place for everyone. The price-quality ratio is great, with highlights like the octopus dish at 14€ and an espresso priced at just 1€. The friendly service adds to the welcoming vibe. Highly recommend this spot for an all-around enjoyable experience!
Canary Island cuisine restaurant must-visit! Recommend trying the chickpeas and a wide range of delectable dishes, it offers an authentic taste of the archipelago. The staff is incredibly friendly, adding to the warm and inviting atmosphere. For an unforgettable experience, I highly recommend dining on the terrace, where you can enjoy your meal while soaking in the charming ambiance and savoring the flavors of the Canary Islands.

6 years agoThe coffee is superb and so are the tapas. The chicken is super tender and the ropa vieja beautiful. 2 tapas enough for one person.
