It was built in 1513 in honor of the Virgen de las Nieves. Inside there is a Flemish triptych from the 16th century of great value known as the Triptych of Nuestra señora de las Nieves (Our Lady of the Snows.)
This is such a pretty church in such a cute town. Haven’t seen it open yet so, can’t comment on the opening hours. The vibe of the town matches the landscape, along with the church.
Built in 1532 as a monastery, the Ermita de Nuestra Senora de las Nieves became the hermitage in the years that followed, but it was destroyed at the beginning of the 18th century. In 1717 the Hermitage was rebuilt by Cristóbal del Castillo, who has been considered the founder of the Hermitage ever since.
Collected and charming. Built at the beginning of the 16th century, it is worth going in, if it is open, to admire the altarpiece of the Virgen de Las Nieves. The contrast of the simple architecture against the volcanic rock is overwhelming. The red with which the dome of the Tower is painted. Inside there are many marine details as befits the place where it is located. It is a must if you go to Agaete.
Virgin of the snows blessed virgin of the snows, you are the pearl of the North of Gran Canaria, protector and beacon of the Gran Canaria islander.
IN the cathedral of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, masses are at 8:45 in the morning from Monday to Friday. Saturdays are at 8:45 in the morning and in the afternoon at 7:00 p.m. On Sundays the masses are at 10, 12 and 13 hours and in the afternoon at 19 hours a magnificent place to hear and enjoy the mass.
The funniest, most endearing party is the one with the branch at the feet of the Virgin on August 5, fantastic.
