It is a small fishing port where traditional Canarian fishing is preserved, it has an area for small boats and there is also the boat that connects Gran Canaria and Tenerife in 80 minutes.

I loved this place. Beautiful blue and white painted buildings with quaint shops and restaurants. This is where the ferry from Tenerife docks so there is a bit of an industrial feel around the port, however, don't let this put you off. The scenery is stunning, the mountains are some of the best I've seen, they call them the dragons tail as they are steep and jagged and reduce in size as they near the ocean. They are beautiful to look at and fairly close, my photos don't do them justice. There's a small pebble beach and some great seafood restaurants. I would happily spend a week here exploring. I didn't mention the waves, they're spectacular along the promenade heading out out of the town. This is also where the legendary finger of God is, however, a few years ago there was a bad storm and his finger broke off, so now it's the hand of God rising out of the sea, see photo. You'll see this finger depicted on alot of souvenirs throughout the island. I've attached a photo of the description from the information board in the harbour. Definitely worth visiting.

A small but charming town with several places for a good walk, nice photo, good view, relax, good food. I recommend visiting and spending some time, enjoying the moment and moving on to discover more interesting places on the island. Wait until sunset if you can!

Puerto de Agaete is hopefully the same place as Puerto de Las Nieves. Because that's what I'm telling you about. Puerto de Las Nieves in Agaete. A stunningly beautiful little town between mountains and sea. As In Lanzarote, the buildings are white with either brown or green window panes, sometimes blue also. Very picturesque place in Northern Gran Canaria. As I was with a group, I didn't have time to enjoy a meal there, but there were lots of seaside restaurants there. I went to see Piscinas Naturales, very much like in Madeira Island, and did not disappoint. 10-15 minutes walk from the town and you are there. They have very clean bathrooms there also. Then I rushed to see the actual beach and yet, I did not get disappointed. I don't like sandy beaches and this definitely wasn't one. Lovely little town.
